A
key aspect of the Programme of Latin Partners is providing opportunities for
Latin American missionaries to have formative placements here in Britain.
Although they often have valuable experience in evangelism, they feel the
need for further specialised experience in evangelistic work among people
from other cultures. Britain’s
multi-cultural society is an excellent training ground. Many also feel the
need for a time of immersion to improve their fluency in English before
going to the mission field.
We are offering to
organise and supervise tailor made placements of about 6 to 12 months with
British churches where they can enjoy fellowship and work in the community
under the guidance of experienced church workers.
Candidates do not need
to become members of Latin Link but we insist on support from their local sending
church. We want to serve other mission agencies, enable co-operation and
act as a link between Latin American sending agencies and established
missions who do not have formal representation in Latin
America but are interested in accepting Latins into their
teams.
